The School of Law hosted the "International Exchange Cross-Cultural Workshop" on September 16 at the Rule of Law Lecture Hall in the Comprehensive Building. The event invited international exchange students to experience Taiwan's Mid-Autumn Festival traditions and engage in cross-cultural exchanges with local students. Exchange students from countries such as the United States, France, and Singapore enthusiastically participated, while local students warmly responded and exchanged contact information to foster lasting friendships.
The first part of the event was an icebreaker session, where students were divided into small groups for self-introductions. They shared their travel experiences, food preferences, and impressions of the university. Some even talked about their experiences learning Chinese. To meet more new friends, students also took the initiative to visit other groups and share their personal stories, seizing the opportunity to socialize.
The second part of the event introduced the customs and traditions of the Mid-Autumn Festival, including its origins, moon-gazing, and sky lantern releasing. Mooncakes were provided for everyone to enjoy, and a fun "Pomelo Peeling Race" was held, adding to the festive atmosphere. Students competed to peel pomelos using only their hands, with the fastest one making a pomelo hat declared the winner. An exchange student from the United States won a box of pomelos as the prize. Local students also assisted exchange students in the activity, adding to the symbolic fun of pomelo peeling, which is believed to bring blessings.
For the international exchange students, their time at NCCU marks the beginning of a completely new academic journey. This event undoubtedly helped them make friends with a legal background, better adapt to their new environment, and create cherished memories of their time in Taiwan.
